Borba de Moraes faz o seguinte comentário na ‘Bibliographia Brasiliana’: “The publisher states in a notice that this ‘Histoire de Jean VI’ forms part of the first volume of the «Annales biographiques», but such was the importance of the subject at that time that he decided to print it also as a separate volume. According to Bernardes Branco the author is Lenormand.
“This valuable biography is well documented, and was used by many historians, such as Oliveira Lima. Several documents are reproduced on p. 114 and following. It is not an easy book to find. For a Portuguese translation, see ‘Historia d’El-Rey D. João Sexto…”.
